Weddings

Whilst we don't offer wedding services at our Pub it's possible that your friends or family may have arranged their wedding at a local venue or Church. If that's so then why not come and stay with us.

Local wedding venues include Rockcliffe Hall and the Croft Spa Hotel within walking distance not to mention the local church St Peters in Croft just around the corner. Or perhaps All Saints Church only a mile away in Hurworth.

No need to pay top prices if bed and breakfast is all you need. Or, if you are travelling from outside the area we are only a short taxi drive from Darlington or any of the other surrounding venues.

Golf

Darlington is well served with golf courses and we are central to all of them.

• Rockliffe Hall Luxury Spa and Golf Resort. Half a mile away and walking distance.
  
  A new and exciting championship golf course which offers the highest quality golfing experience on one of the longest courses in Europe. A state of the art all-weather course with 12 miles of drainage, driver ranges and facilies to match. Only half a mile away from The Station Hotel in Hurworth and within walking distance.
  No need to pay top dollar for accomodation if it's only the golf you're after. Stay with us, just down the road.
  
• Dinsdale Spa Golf Club. 3 and a half miles away and 10 minutes by car.
  
  Recently reconfigured with the introduction of two new holes creating a 6462 yard par 72 course. A well maintained, manicured course with three demanding par 5's and 3 tricky par 3's to test all golfers.
  Boasts a well maintained practice area complete with two covered driving bays. Mixed club competitions throughout the year thanks to a strong ladies and juniors membership.
  
• Blackwell Grange Golf Club. 2.8 miles away and five minutes by car.
  
  A very popular Par 68 parkland golf course. Visitors and groups welcome and buggies available for hire.
  
• Stressholme Golf Club. 2 and a half miles away. Four minutes by car.
  
  

  The golf course and its facilities are well established in the golfing world, a view that is firmly endorsed by the PGA, who regularly use the facilities for competitions.

  The superb 18 hole parkland golf course extends over 145 acres and offers one of the best 15 bay floodlit driving ranges, offering distance markers, raised target greens and chipping nets.  Stressholme also boasts a superb practice green, a professional shop and excellent catering facilities in the clubhouse.

  The clubhouse overlooks the 9th tee and 18th green.  It offers a comfortable, traditional country pub/club house atmosphere, with friendly staff and excellent catering facilities with an extensive social calendar for both club members, members of the business fraternity and families.

  The Centre has ample secure car parking facilities and is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens and rolling countryside.

• Darlington Golf Club.  9 miles away and 15 minutes by car.
  
  Not many golf clubs can boast they share the same designer as one of the world’s leading courses but that is the case for the Darlington Golf Club. Founded in 1908 and designed by Dr Alistair Mackenzie, the designer of the Augusta National, home of the US Masters, the 18-hole parkland course shares many similarities to the Masters’ track.
  Huge rolling greens, lush, tree lined fairways and unforgiving semi rough challenges golfers of all abilities.
  After a tiring days golf relax in our Clubhouse where full bar and catering facilities are available or, weather permitting, sit on the patio and enjoy watching fellow golfers on the 10th green.
